Favreau hasn’t written, directed, and starred in a film since Made in 2001.In Chef, he plays Chef Carl Casper, who suddenly quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity. And on a more personal note, KCRW DJ Mathieu Schreyer served as the films music supervisor!
Song from the Forest is a documentary about what happens when you hear something on the radio one day, and allow it to completely and totally change the direction of your life. As a radio producer, it already has a special place in my heart.

KCRW has been on the Harmontown bandwagon ever since our recent Live Taping of The Treatment with Dan Harmon and Elvis Mitchell (which airs next week!) And we’ve been fans of Harmon, the creator of NBC’s Community and host of the live show/podcast Harmontown, since long before that.
So we’re pretty excited for the world premiere of Harmontown at SXSW. The documentary follows Harmon during the tumultuous year after he was fired from NBC’s Community, the show he created. In this just-released trailer, he says, "I woke up this morning and realized I have nothing to do." So the Harmontown podcast hit the road for a nation-wide tour, and let documentary filmmaker Neil Berkeley (Beauty is Embarrassing) tag along.
The film premieres on Saturday, March 8th, at 9:30PM (CT) at the Austin Convention Center’s Vimeo Theater. It follows a live Harmontown podcast across the street at Hilton’s Liberty Tavern Bar at 5PM (CT). Viva la Harmon!
Australian electronic musician/singer Chet Faker first came on our radar in 2012 with his cover of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity”, followed by a notable collaboration with fellow Aussie Flume. Now, he’s prepping his full length debut and, if the single “Talk is Cheap” is any indication, we’re in for something good.
